CHARACTER | CANON | CANON POINT: Niccolo Santi | The Great Library | pre-series, after the events of Stormcrow
BRIEF INFO OF YOUR CHARACTER: The Great Library is set in an alternate history in which the Library of Alexandria never burned down and instead spawned daughter libraries called Serapeums all over the globe, creating the most powerful institution in the world. In a time where any book from the Library can be "mirrored" into a blank for those who have the ability to pay for it, ownership of "originals" is illegal and punishable by fines, imprisonment, or worse.
Nic is a captain of the High Garda, the Library's own military force. While he appears in the series in his late 30s, I will be playing him from when he's still a few years in the service and only recently promoted to captain. (Chris estimates he's 18-19 in Stormcrow, so maybe 20-ish?) He's well-liked and popular in the Garda, a fine soldier with a talent for leadership, has a strong sense of duty, levelheaded and smart, "solid in the center of a storm." He also is in the habit of aiding his dead peers' children — already very much a dad, just not yet tired.
